 They say that the home is a reflection of the person living within. You can tell much about a persons lifestyle and character if you look at how he manages his chores and decorates his home. It is in this manner that pet lovers are easily distinguishable because of what they choose to adorn in their homes. Pet lover dcor is not exactly a theme, or a look that can be achieved; it is just something that is natural in the homes of true pet lovers.

Wall Decorations and Other Accessories

Animal-inspired decorations are both easy and enjoyable to find. It is easy because a lot of household items are manufactured with animal designs. There are plates, glasses, and other utensils that are printed with colorful animal pictures. There are off-the rack throw pillow covers, rugs, curtains, towels and other fabrics that are printed with adorable patterns of flora and fauna. There are plenty of wall decorations which may be hanged or nailed on the wall; made of plastic or fragile material like glass and plaster; and soft like stuffed decorations or hard like figurines. Plenty of conventional household items are made for pet lovers.

What is enjoyable is when you finally find them and discover that there are very unique designs that make conventional items look very different. Examples are animal-figured phone sets, shower caps with plastic animal heads, childrens caps topped with stuffed animal heads, uniquely shaped chairs, tables and stools that have the same themes, plastic cabinets with animal designs and wooden ones with carved pet figures.

Decorating 101: Mind the pets

More than just the decorations of dogs and/or cats around the house, you know that a homeowner is a pet lover because there are several modified features of his home that are intended to suit the needs of his pets. If you are a pet lover, you might be decorating your home the same way too.

A large boisterous cat who loves jumping on furniture and tall cabinets, for instance, largely influence interior dcor. You cant place fragile items and figurines on top of those dressers; otherwise theyll be knocked down and may shatter. Unstable furniture may also meet the same fate if pet retrievers and great dames are permitted to run around the house.

Having pet birds in the house can also be a decorative technique. There are bird cages that are made with intricate designs on top and on the bars. The smaller cages can be hanged or laid on a table near the window. There are very tall cages that may be as tall as two meters and about two square meters wide. Placing them in a corner of the den or at the end of a brightly lit hallway is a creative way to decorate the area.

Of course, the ultimate thing that will complete a room with pet lover dcor is truly having a pet in the house. The best way to decorate a room is to express yourself, and if you truly are a pet lover, it will show.
